78th Annual Lummi Stommish Water Festival
“Stommish” which means “warrior” in the Lummi language, is an event held every year at Lummi Stommish Grounds in June and began as a celebration to honor World War II veterans. The festival is known for its food, arts & crafts, stick games, performances, unveiling the Stommish princess and warrior, and the all-day war canoe races. We needed extra strength this weekend to survive the wild weather changes as well as all the races! Special shout out to our incredible staff members who participated, Santana and Bella were out on the water for the majority of the weekend racing canoes and Roy performed his music Saturday night! If you missed it this year, mark your calendars for next June - it’s worth the whole year of anticipation to gather together and feel all the energy.
