HY’SHQE (thank you)

This work could not be completed without you, from Dallas and Tia sharing cssp content, to everyone behind the camera. To the hardworking events team and staff traveling from building to building to talk about the work. Our hands go up to you all, we are all in this together. To the funders and community who see our vision for a better future for all. Hy'shqe Siam e ne schaleche Siam (thank you my dear people).

NETSE MOT: ONE HEART | ONE MIND
ONE PEOPLE GATHERING - OCT 22

HUMBLE BEGININGS

Children of the Setting Sun is humbled by the gift of the Mindport Building. We understand our shared responsibility to create a space of cross-cultural learning through Coast Salish stories, lifeways, and art. We see the space as a vibrant storytelling lab and a "gateway to the Salish Sea." Stay tuned on our website for ways to join our journey!

INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY: OCT 14TH
LUMMI NATION SCHOOL

Western Washington University (WWU) is hosting an Indigenous Peoples’ Day event at the Lummi Nation school today at 5 PM. Please note that this event is separate from the Oct. 22 Netse Mot: One People Gathering in Seattle.

The heart of Indigenous Peoples’ Day is to honor the wisdom and contributions of the first stewards of this land. This year, we gather to further this purpose, focusing on the leadership and deep knowledge our Indigenous peoples offer as we confront the challenges of our time. We invite you to join us in listening and engaging in a meaningful way.

The event will begin with Salmon, Lummi Blackhawk Singers will open the event, and be led by the inspiring Ta'Kaiya Blaney, a gifted singer, award-winning actress, and steadfast advocate for our environment from the Tla A'min Nation in British Columbia.

Children of the Setting Sun Productions is a 501 (c)3 non-profit

that relies on the graciousness of others. If you feel inspired, make a tax deductible donation.
